Designed for temporary sharing

The hidden photo is prepared in your browser before it is stored. The temporary server copy is saved as encrypted data rather than as a normal viewable photo.

Encrypted before upload

Your browser encrypts the prepared image before it is sent to MixPlay. The stored file is encrypted data, not a normal JPG that can simply be opened.

Automatic expiry

Cards can expire automatically. If one-time reveal is selected, the encrypted server copy can be removed after the card is fully revealed.

Important: anyone who receives the complete private share link can open the card while it is still valid. Only send the link to people you intend to share the image with.

Frequently asked questions

Does the recipient need a MixPlay account?

No. They simply open the private link in a modern browser and scratch the card.

Can someone see the photo before scratching?

The photo is displayed only after the encrypted image has been downloaded and decrypted in the recipient’s browser. The scratch layer sits over the image until it is removed.

Is the photo stored as a normal image?

No. For shared cards, MixPlay stores encrypted data rather than a normal directly viewable photo file.

What happens when the card expires?

Once the expiry time is reached, the card becomes unavailable. Expired encrypted files are then removed by the site’s cleanup process.

What does “delete after first reveal” mean?

When the recipient fully reveals a one-time card, MixPlay marks it as used and removes the encrypted server copy. The same card cannot then be opened again.

Can I send the card through WhatsApp or email?

Yes. Copy the complete share link and send it through WhatsApp, Messenger, email, text message or another service.

Does scratching permanently alter my original photo?

No. The scratch effect happens inside the recipient’s browser. Your original image on your own device is not modified.

Can I share sensitive or private information?

Treat the complete share link as private because anyone who has it may be able to open the card while it remains valid. Avoid using the service for passwords, financial information, identity documents or other highly sensitive material.
